In June 2021, Hagar Vietnam staff were honored to receive an invitation by the Vietnam Gender Equality Movement and Institute of Sustainable Development to be a part of two talk shows on Facebook. These talk shows were focused on drawing attention to gender-based violence and how to prevent the sexual harassment of children in public places.

During these events, Hagar staff talked about different models and methods for supporting people that are suffering from gender-based violence and also shared about ways to prevent violence occurring in the first place. These 2 talk shows attracted nearly 5000 listeners on Facebook! Hagar’s hope is that each of these listeners has grown in their understanding of how to support survivors and prevent abuse from occurring.

What is also significant is that through a talk with a member of the Australian Embassy, the Gender Equality Department invited Hagar to join the group to amend the domestic violence law and the National Strategy 2021-2025 on preventing and combating gender-based violence! Hagar is going to have national influence!
