We started in Cambodia in 1994, and since more than 60% of trafficking originates in Asia and the Pacific, we continue to focus our efforts in that region. Our global programmes are led by skilled local teams and implementing partners.
“I Am a Brave Person”: Kunthea’s Story
After experiencing abuse at a young age, Kunthea arrived in Hagar’s care carrying fear and uncertainty. With a safe foster family, counselling and long-term support, she slowly began to discover what it meant to feel secure, belong and trust the people around her.
Today, Kunthea loves reading, drawing and spending time with her friends, and dreams of becoming a science teacher. Her words say it best: “I am a brave person.”
