In 2021, the Hagar Vietnam team were busy working with other agencies to build their understanding of trauma and how to best work with those who are experiencing it. Hagar conducts these trainings with the goal of increasing the capacity of other organisations to provide high level care and help to the survivors of severe abuse that they encounter. One of these agencies was Oxfam, and on the 9th of July, Hagar Vietnam staff travelled to the Oxfam office and delivered a session on what Trauma Informed care is and how it could be used in their work. This was the first time that Oxfam staff had learned about trauma and how to apply trauma informed care in their workplace.

A representative from Oxfam said: “We are deeply impressed with the contents and Hagar’s expertise, and the way Nhung and Hoa (Hagar staff) conducted the learning and handled the technical questions from our staff. We’ve included our quick survey result here as the testimony of how highly staff thinks about the learning events.”
