At just 17 years old, what seemed like a harmless job offer on TikTok turned into a nightmare that trapped Grace in human trafficking.
Grace was raised in a caring and supportive family in Thailand. During a school break, she came across an advertisement on TikTok promising an easy job—simply responding to messages, earning money quickly, and no prior experience required. Encouraged by her family’s trust and hope for a better future, Grace and her best friend decided to accept the offer.
However, it was a lie. The advertisement was created by a trafficking ring.
When Grace and her friend arrived for their first day, their phones and identification documents were confiscated. They were then smuggled across the border into Cambodia, stripped of their freedom.
Once inside a secured compound surrounded by high fences and barbed wire, they were forced to deceive strangers online to extract money. When Grace resisted these cruel demands, she faced brutal threats and intimidation.
In the darkest moments, Grace found herself praying desperately to return home. She longed for the safety and love of her family and the life she had lost.
