Bopha's hope

Bopha is a widowed mother of three, and one of her children is a client of Hagar in Cambodia. For many years, she travelled to Thailand to earn income, leaving her children in the care of her mother. When COVID-19 struck and borders closed, she could no longer travel for work, and the family faced even greater hardship.

With support from Hagar’s counsellor, case manager, and economic empowerment team, Bopha began to explore new ways of earning a living. Together, they developed a plan, and she was supported to set up a small shop near her home. This has given her a source of steady daily income and allowed her to stay with her children.

“Without your support, I cannot stand here today with my small shop to make my daily income and wage,” Bopha shared.

“I have nothing to say for your support to my family, beside placing both my palms together to wish and bless your team and work. I will try my best to keep my shop running to support my daughter.”
