Hagar NZ is excited to announce the upcoming visit by Melinda Tankard Reist.

Melinda is a Canberra author, speaker, media commentator, blogger and advocate for women and girls. She is well known for her work on the sexualisation of children and her efforts to address violence against women. Melinda has published 5 books, and is a regular newspaper columnist and guest on Australian television. Her work is included in Steve Biddulph’s parenting book “Raising Girls”. A co-founder of Collective Shout: for a world free of sexploitation, Melinda is named in the Who’s Who of Australian Women and the World Who’s Who of Women.

“Melinda’s message needs to be heard,” says Don Lord, Hagar NZ’s Executive Director. “She brings together what is happening here in our own culture with the exploitation Hagar deals with in it’s work overseas.”

Melinda is in great demand as a speaker internationally. She addresses thousands of young people each year in schools and youth events, parent groups, professional development courses, and international organisations.

Melinda is in New Zealand with Hagar NZ, discussing the sexualisation and global exploitation of children, and our role in keeping children safe.
