“I became motivated to get involved in Hagar after reading an article about Human trafficking in Cambodia, before this never having heard anything about the slavery in Cambodia. Hearing a few of the stories of the people that had been victims of slavery, I was heart broken to hear what they had been through and decided that I really wanted to do something to make a difference in any way I could. After making the decision to travel to Cambodia where I will be doing volunteer work teaching English in June this year I thought that this would be a great opportunity to raise whatever amount of money I could. With the help of my community I was able to raise $1000 in a very short amount of time. While I am in Cambodia I would love to be able to visit the Hagar center to see where the money I raised is going and to see how the Hagar team work to help the victims of trafficking.”
