Hagar New Zealand
Hagar New Zealand is based in Christchurch and has a two-fold mission:
1. Primarily we are a fundraising support office for the work of Hagar in Afghanistan, Cambodia and Vietnam with survivors of extreme human rights abuse, human trafficking and exploitation.
2. Our secondary focus is advocacy and awareness raising of what is happening here in New Zealand in terms of human trafficking and slavery, and how we can respond (what Hagar terms “societal change”). As part of this work we are actively involved in a coalition of NZ based organisations seeking to determine an accurate picture of slavery and exploitation in NZ.
Hagar New Zealand is registered with the Charities Commission of NZ (CC50258) and is headed up by Executive Director Don Lord.
